Our walk was a “micro navigation” of the streets around Chelsea, attempting to select the higher ground at each junction (so we shouldn’t have ended up at the river, I think?).

At the half way point, we spent time exploring a small stone “plateau” which yielded many points of interest: a micro-local history, various flora and fauna and conversations resulting from these discoveries, eg., what snails may be thinking when they set off on a meandering walk.

A big group set off in the afternoon sun. We wandered in various configurations, coalescing again on the Thames at Chelsea Harbour.

We walked straight north from Chelsea Theatre to see where it might take us. We realised that half of the walk was heading back to the theatre, and therefore a different quality of lost, if indeed we were ever lost.

A walk of dead ends and unpromising looking pathways. I set out last from the theatre, on my own, with a plan to follow the last group that left the square. I managed to lose them at the first turn, and so practised walking purposefully for a while. This was tiring, as purposeful feels like it should be fast.
